Get Involved

The mission of the Cleveland County Animal Services Department is to protect the health and safety of our residents; promote humane care and prevent cruel treatment of animals; and work to reduce the number of stray and homeless animals in our county. You can support our work in a number of ways including donating, volunteering, and fostering.

Individuals and community groups are encouraged to apply as volunteers. From trail cleanup to adoption events, service projects, and more, we offer numerous opportunities for the community to be involved year-round.

Fosters play a critical role in a shelter pet's life, whether for a day or several weeks. We are now taking applications for new fosters who can care for an animal at home.

We gladly accept donations of towels, toys, and treats for our shelter pets, including Kongs, canned pumpkin, and milkbones. Items can be dropped off at the shelter during our normal operating hours, Monday through Friday 11-4 and Saturday 11-3. See our full wishlist on our Donation page.

You can also support the shelter through a monetary donation. All donations to Cleveland County Animal Services go towards life-saving programs and/or services not to general budget.
